Committee

The committee are here to ensure the club delivers the right training and support for its members.  It also exists to ensure the club continues to develop, and to ensure that it meets the needs of members of all abilities.

As the club continues to grow, the array of tasks also grows, so if you would like to assist, especially in leading training runs or rides then please let us know.  Your help is appreciated.

Should you have any suggestions or ideas that you feel may benefit the club, please do let us know by emailing chair@calnesmartt.co.uk.  Should you wish to contact any committee members about their area of responsibility, the individual email addresses are shown below:

Brian Spiers - Club Chairman

Brian took over as our Club Chaiman in March 2020.  He took up running in 2009 and has competed in numerous 10Ks, half-marathons, marathons and a handful of ultra marathons.  In 2016 Brian cycled from John O'Groats to Lands End.  Two year later he cycled from Lands End to John O'Groats.

Richard Smith - Club Treasurer

Richard graduated from our beginners group in 2017.  He enjoys all types of running and has started to train for triathlons.  As Club Treasurer he is responsible for making sure we have enough funds to cover all our social and training sessions.

Jennifer Colley - Club Secretary

I like to run in a Forest Gump stylee.......fuelled by Jaffa Cakes. I love to explore new routes. I run mainly because I don't have the patience to walk.

Jane Board - Club Development

Jane joined the club after completion of the 2016 Beginners Course.  She says "although I am not speedy, I have got the running bug and completed my first half marathon in 2019.

As Club Development Officer I aim to promote the club and our events within the local community and on social media.  I am also responsible for the club kit to ensure we look our best when representing the club and attending local events."

Grahame Shaddick

Grahame Shaddick assists with organising the coaching and run leader rota alongside the club's main coach, Kevin Cole, as well as helping with promoting club events on social media.  He now enjoys the slower ultra races (because it gives him a chance to walk a bit too!)
