Like to try out a running club, but nervous about coming along? Interested in learning more about running or getting fit? Then come along to Castlefields in Calne on Sunday 20 August 2017 at 10am to meet coaches and runners from Calne SMaRTT.
The event is open to all and a number of groups will be set depending on numbers and abilities on the day. Options will range from a short 10/15 minute option to a 10K run.
There will be time for Questions and Answers, both during and afterwards for any running or fitness related queries and to learn more about what Calne SMaRTT has to offer.

I started the couch to 5k programme in April of this year with little expectation about what would come of it. It was 10 sessions, and really reasonably priced, so I thought I’d give it a go.
Before attending the first session, I was really nervous about what to expect, and worried that my fitness levels wouldn’t be good enough. I was proved wrong! Darren, the coach, is absolutely fantastic. He made sure that everyone knew that they were only to work within their own capabilities, and not worry about what anyone else was doing.
With this in mind, the sessions were stretching, but not too difficult, and Darren was always very positive and encouraging, as were the other members of the group. He always made me push that little bit harder, but only because he knew I had it in me.
The course has now finished, and I am now running regularly, and considering whether to join the main club – last week, I ran 4 miles, which is more than I ever thought I could. Thanks to Darren and Calne SMaRTT for all the positivity and encouragement – I couldn’t have done it without you, and would recommend this course to anyone 🙂
Beginners course – couch to 5K starting on 26 April 2017.
We will be running a 10 week couch to 5K course on Wednesday evenings from 6.15pm to 7.15pm at Beversbrook Sports Facility. Guided by experienced coaches you will be given full support throughout the course with an end of course 5K supported run. Pre-booking essential.
